RedBird Full Motion Advanced Aviation Training Device
The Redbird Full Motion Flight Simulator (FMX) serves up a level of realism that has to be experienced. But the bigger advantage for pilots is the Redbird FMX is FAA certified as an Advanced Aviation Training Device (AATD). This certification means that a pilot can log flight experience in a Redbird simulator toward new certifications and instrument proficiency.
The Redbird FMX is a FAA certified AATD with an electric motion platform, a fully enclosed cockpit and instructor operating station. The 200 degrees of wrap-around visuals include every airport in the United States. The visuals are so complete that you can see the ailerons move on the side screens as you do turns around a point, or watch the shadows change.
The fully enclosed cockpit and aviation headsets allow for training and practice without being distracted by activities outside of the trainer. In addition to the normal cloud and visibility control, the advanced visuals and motion system allow for weather changes that also include wind, turbulence, day/night, rain, and snow conditions to be introduced to the flight.
The motion platform allows for a total pitch movement of 50 degrees (+/- 25 each direction), 60 degrees of yaw (+/- 30 each direction), and 40 degrees of roll (+/- 20 each direction). The total package brings a realism unrealized in other competitive devices.
Flexible and cost effective to provide you with more successful and safer training.
For the majority of pilots, training in Oregon challenges your dedication and wallet. Inevitably you experience the frustration and (higher cost) of canceled lessons due to fog, rain, snow, icing, low ceilings, or aircraft mechanical problems. Wouldn't it be better to practice your VFR or IFR skills consistently, with REALISTIC motion and scenery, in good or bad weather, with or without your instructor? Now you can. Don’t let a week go by without practicing VFR or IFR maneuvers and procedures. Bring your own instructor, or simply fly "solo" to practice and maintain proficiency.
Renting our Redbird FMX simulator requires just a simple checkout and it's available after normal business hours as well as on Saturdays and Sundays! Contact us: info@takewinginc.com or call 541-895-5935 for rental rates.
- Much more affordable than renting real aircraft with similar equipment.
- If you're new to flying, familiarization with flight controls and instruments can be accomplished faster.
- No time wasted on pre-flight.
- Pause a flight, ask questions, then resume flying or retry things quickly.
- Practice crosswind takeoffs and landings on every flight.
- Practice multiple skills in the same flight. For instrument training, you don't have to wait for bad weather and you won't be tempted to peak under a hood.
- You don't lose time flying to a practice area before initiating maneuvers or instrument approaches.
-
Practice the unexpected safely, like engine failures on takeoff, inadvertent flight into bad weather, and spin recovery.
- Bathroom break when you need it, not when you can land.
- FAA approved to log time for private, instrument, commercial and ATP certificates.
Under all conditions, instruction has to be given by a FAA "Authorized" instructor before it can be applied to any rating or certificate. (You can fly "solo" but that time can only be used for proficiency.) For Part 141 operations, the certificates holders POI has to approve the simulator for use in the selected course.
Block time rates are available for student pilots, pilots, flight schools, independent flight instructors, and colleges, contact TakeWING 541-895-5935 for details.
